AGILITY  *Agility is the ultimate game for you and your dog. In agility, a dog demonstrates their agile nature and versatility by following cues from the handler through a timed obstacle course. The course has jumps, tunnels, weave poles, and other obstacles. Agility strengthens the bond between dogs and handlers, it is extremely fun, and it provides vigorous exercise for both!The classes at W.A.G.S are for all levels. Beginners to Competitive. Contact the Agility department direct at WAGSAGILITY@yahoo.com For agility, flat buckle or quick release collars only, no choke collars or harness of any type bring a hungry dog with lots of good treats! Puppy Agility For puppies 4-12 months old. It is recommended that puppies complete our puppy pre-school or FUNdamental pups. This class is an early start towards motivated, focused, fast and safe agility. It is best combined with obedience classes. Pups will learn obstacle recognition, and basic targeting. Our puppy agility equipment will provide a safe non intimidating environment. We are committed to balancing pups natural enthusiasm with control and focus.Meets weekly for 6 weeks, one hour sessions. $75 per dog/handler team
Intro to Agility The goal of this class is to teach dogs to confidently and safely perform all obstacles used in agility. Dogs will learn to work off the right and left sides of their handlers. As their confidence grows they will be called and sent over obstacles as well as work on speed and distance. Short straight sequences will be taughtPre-requisite: Successful completion of FUNdamentals or a Beginners obedience class. Dogs must be one year old to attend. Meets weekly for 6 weeks, one hour sessions. $75 per dog/handler team
Agility Skills 1 Students will learn footwork for various crosses and turns used in agility along with directional commands. Angled approaches to obstacles and more distance work will be encouraged. Dogs and handler teams will work toward developing some flow with their sequenceing.Pre-requisite: Intro to agility or instructor recommended. If you have trained else were we accept all students!!!!! Meets weekly for 6 weeks, one hour sessions. $75 per dog/handler team
Agility Skills 2 This class with focus on better team communication and consistency in handling, jumping patterns, obstacles discrimination and layering. Directional commands and footwork will be tuned in for better timing and smoother team work.Pre-requisite: Intro to agility 1 or instructor recommended. If you have trained else were we accept all students!!!!! Meets weekly for 6 weeks, one hour sessions. $75 per dog/handler team
Advanced Agility This class is for agility teams competing in the higher levels of competition. Sequences will be set up to improve dog and handler teams for trailsPre-requisite: Agility skills 2 or instructor recommended. If you have trained else were we accept all students!!!!! $13 per session
AGILITY O.P.T. Agility Open Practice Time is for agility teams to work together outside of a structured class. We will have a nested novice/advanced course set were teams can have a practice work out.Equipment will stay set on a specific course for the entire session. With each new session we will have a new course. Jump heights can be changed but course structure will remain during each session. Treats may be used in the ring. Each team will have 3 minutes in the ring alone. A proctor for O.P.T will be on premise to ensure all runs are timed properly, team rotations are fair and all teams can run. Teams can do as many runs as available within the session. Individuals attending must have prior agility training as dogs must be doing full height equipment. There are no instructors available during O.P.T. June 17th - 10 a.m. - Noon Individual runs $3.00, Unlimited runs $9.00 Agility Game Classes Looking for something fun and different in agility? Class registration forms and a canine profile must be on file with W.A.G.S. prior to you entering the training ring. Registrations can be mailed, faxed or dropped off at our campus. We accept phone reservations. We would appreciate having registrations filled out prior to coming to your first class. If you are unable to do so please arrive 15 minutes prior to your first class.
